As we reopened in September, 2020, we took the safety of our students and parents very seriously. We disinfect all high-contact surfaces, eliminate all communal art supply bins, and reduce the class sizes to allow each child plenty of personal space.
We screen upon entering and design the classes for the "new normal."
Special awareness, especially for the youngest students, to follow protocol, but never put the stress and worry on the children.
All parents and students 5 years and above must wear face coverings; no exceptions. Everyone receives a temperature check upon arrival, and we immediately wash our hands.
Through social distancing and adjusting some of our group activities, we still enjoy a no-contact learning environment.
Our art studio believes that education and peer interaction is essential. Although art classes are a supplement to the core curriculum children need, we recognize that our in-person small classes play an even more important role as most children are learning virtually right now. We may have on masks, and we may be further apart, but we make a mess, share a laugh, and feed off of one another's creative energy.
We don't like to turn students away, or see them on a "waitlist" for too long... so here are new classes to accommodate everyone who wants to join us in March. Registration opens Feb. 18!
Art from the Start: (parent/child 2-5 yr. olds)
Sat: at 9:30 or 10:30
Wed: K-5th grade 5-6pm

We are really excited to welcome Joelle Gilbert of Canal Quarter Studios to the Art Time for Kids Team! After being a guest artist for one of the most fun projects for middle school, we knew she needed to teach more classes. The new K-5th and middle school classes on Wednesdays beginning in March will be taught by the fabulous and creative Ms. Joelle!
Wow! What a project. Working in two groups, 15 elementary kids spend November and December sketching, painting, and learning about historic Fredericksburg. Our completed mural is installed on the 800 block of Caroline Street, in between Abner B's Ice Cream, and Bangkok Cafe. The five panels are titled, "Fredericksburg: Past, Present, Future, Strong."
For the second time, Art Time for Kids is honored to be voted Best Art Class in Fredericksburg by FredParent! Thank-you to all who voted. We are so proud to be successfully expanding since our beginnings in 2014. We have grown as your children have grown, and now our classes range from ages 2 through teens.
